Privacy and help
What leaves your Mac
Your samples, your library and what the microphone hears never leave your Mac: every analysis runs on it, and there is no analytics or tracking. The app goes online only to check for updates, show maps, open the Help links you choose, and activate a licence. Settings > Privacy lists each connection in plain words; the privacy policy lists what each one sends and how long it is kept.
Crash reports
When Clap Studio crashed or stopped responding, a window shows the report on the next launch, with file names and paths already taken out, so what you see is what would be sent. Send uploads it once, Copy Report lets you email it yourself, and Don't Send deletes it. Nothing is sent without that click.
Getting help
The Help menu has:
- Clap Studio Help (⌘?): this guide.
- Keyboard Shortcuts: the list below.
- Ask a Question… starts a discussion, and Report a Problem… starts an issue with the app version, macOS version and Mac model filled in, on the public repository. Posting there needs a GitHub account and is public, so never post a licence key or anything private.
- Email Support… opens an email to [email protected] in your mail app, with the same three filled in, for licence, billing and anything private. Copy Diagnostics adds a report to paste into it, with no file names or paths.
- Acknowledgements: the models and code by others that the app includes, also on the website.
