Support and questions
Clap Studio is made by one person. Help is best effort: every message is read, but there is no promised reply time. Start with the user guide; it covers every feature.
Where to ask
- Questions and ideas: Discussions on GitHub, or Help > Ask a Question… in the app. Other musicians can answer too.
- Something does not work: Issues on GitHub, or Help > Report a Problem…, which fills in the app version, macOS version and Mac model.
- Licences, payments and anything private: email [email protected], or Help > Email Support…. Help > Copy Diagnostics adds a report to paste in, with no file names.
Posting on GitHub needs a GitHub account and is public: never post a licence key or anything personal there. Security problems go privately to the security address.
Common questions
What does the free edition leave out?
Nothing but size: the library holds up to 100 files, samples and field recordings together, and every feature is the same. A library that already holds more keeps showing and playing all of it; new files are left out, and the app says how many. Nothing is ever deleted, hidden or changed because of the limit. Where is my licence?
The key is in the purchase email, with a link that activates it in the app. Can’t find it? Check your spam folder, then have it sent again to the address you bought with. If it was a gift, the key went to the address it was redeemed with.
How many Macs can I use?
Up to 5 Macs of your own on one licence. Each Mac is activated once, online, and then works offline for good. A Mac without internet can be activated with a code made on another device.
I have a new Mac. What now?
Activate the new one with your key. If you have used all 5 places, free one: on the old Mac choose Deactivate This Mac… in Settings > Licence, or, if it is gone, remove it on Manage your Macs. Reinstalling macOS on the same Mac uses no extra place. Your library stays on each Mac; nothing is copied between them.
How do gifts work?
You buy a gift code and pass it on; the person you give it to redeems it with their own email address and gets a licence of their own. See Give as a gift.
Can I get a refund?
The refund and withdrawal policy will be in the Terms of sale, which are not published yet. The free edition lets you try every feature before you buy.
Does Clap Studio change my files?
No, except where you ask it to: writing cues and tags into WAV files, normalizing a Squid Salmple drive, and exports. Those writes are checked before they replace anything. Trims and sound edits live in the app’s library, not in your files.
What does it run on?
macOS 14 Sonoma or newer. Try the free download first to check it on your Mac.
